Default 97 Civic LX [5spd] - engine loses power and 'chokes' ?

    Hi,

    I have a 97 Honda Civic LX 5 speed.

When i accelerate slowly, about 45% of the time, the car will start losing power (RPM's drop) and than feel like it chokes and than goes on..
Lately it feels like it loses power more often and longer than before, however if i accelerate (floor it) it doesnt do it at all.

I was recommended to change fuel filter, which I did.. and it still has the same problems.

when the car is in neutral, do the rpms surge?

when you try to rev the car, does it redline or does it limit its sellf befor that point?

what is the mileage on the car?

when was the last time you service the throttle body?

    replaced the air filter?

had any recent ENGINE SPECIFIC service done to it?

sounds like a potential TPS or MAP sensor problem

it is not a TPS proplem. it revs fine and no codes. new fuel filter.

it is an injector problem. service them, test them or replace them. if you pull the injectors and they are mucky/gunked up with black then there is your problem...

    noticed poor fuel economy?
